Job Title: Senior Linux System Administrator

Department: IT Infrastructure

About the Role:

We are hiring a Senior Linux System Administrator to take ownership of day-to-day server operations, automation tasks, and technical escalations. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge in Linux system administration and should be capable of independently handling client environments and internal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Rocky, Alma, CentOS)
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot web servers (Apache, NGINX)
  • Manage databases like MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL
  • Handle DNS, mail services, and security hardening
  • Implement automated scripts for routine server tasks
  • Monitor system health and resource usage
  • Manage server migrations and upgrades
  • Backup strategy design and disaster recovery implementation
  • Provide documentation and train junior team members

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Linux command line and shell scripting
  • Apache, NGINX, PHP-FPM
  • MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL
  • Email server basics (Postfix, Dovecot)
  • DNS, FTP, Firewall (iptables, firewalld)
  • Backup solutions (rsync, Duplicity, Bacula)
  • Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Netdata)
  • Version Control (Git)
  • Basic understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, Proxmox)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related discipline
  • RHCSA, Linux+, or equivalent (preferred)
  • 2.5 to 6 Years of relevant experience in Linux environments
